Your Questions, Answered.

From how we invest to who we support, explore the most common questions about ATL TrailblazHER Angels and our approach to building impactful businesses.

What is ATL TrailblazHER Angels?

We are an angel group focused on growing high-potential founders in Atlanta and the Super South region. We exist, however, not just to fund companies but also to celebrate and work with the incredible ecosystem in the area.

What are the organization’s funding goals?

For our members, we initially aim to facilitate two or three investments annually with up to $100,000 each. As our membership grows, we anticipate that the number of investments and the size of capital deployed will increase accordingly.

Are you a fund?

No. ATL TrailblazHER Angels is not a fund. We invest via individual syndicates, allowing members to choose which companies they want to support. Each member chooses their level of involvement within minimum membership commitments, and we believe in access with autonomy.

What does membership look like?

Members pay $1,000 annually and are asked to commit a minimum of $10,000 each year for a single investment. But ATL TrailblazHER Angels membership is not just about capital, it’s about community, conversation, and the joy of seeing others rise.

Do members choose where to invest?

Yes. Our organization will have forums to expose members to investment opportunities. Members will choose where to invest their funds.

Will your members be women only?

We are proud to be women-founded, and we welcome all who want to help fund innovation in the region.

Who is involved with the organization today?

Our founding board includes women with relevant experience who offer strategic guidance on core business fundamentals, while expanding access to broader networks.

  • Genna Keller-Chairwoman and Co-CEO, Trevelino/Keller
  • Laura Berry-Principal, Windham Brannon
  • Christy Brown-CEO, Dr. Noze Best
  • Paula Nagarajan-Partner, Arnall Golden Gregory LLP
  • Loren Mount-O’Brien-Founder/CEO, Mirour
  • Jen Bonnett-VP of Technology & Entrepreneurship, Invest Atlanta
How will you educate new investors?

Our mission is not only to fund high-potential founders, but we will also have an educational component for investors. Our educational goal is twofold: first, we create pathways for established founders to give back by mentoring and supporting emerging entrepreneurs. Second, we aim to expose the next generation of investors to angel opportunities. We will leverage existing resources and organizations to create educational content and partnerships for our members.

Do Atlanta female founders have a harder time getting capital?

The reality is there are fewer women-led startups. As an example, of all the VC deals done in the state of Georgia, only 28.29% are for female-led startups. While we are not focused on VC funding, that stat showcases the gap between female-led and male-led startups in the state of Georgia. We are committed to making measurable progress in that area, in addition to supporting all innovators.
